Position Summary/Responsibilities: (Note: In schools with more than one MIT position, responsibilities may be shared as appropriate)

? Provide Academic Intervention Services (AIS) and Response to Intervention (RtI) Services in Mathematics to students at the most intensive level of AIS directly through assessment, push-in or pull out services, participation in related student meetings as requested, and providing consultation to teachers at less intensive levels of math intervention as needed.

? Support teachers in the implementation of the elementary mathematics program by:

delivering demonstration lessons to model best practices in teaching mathematics

facilitating team math planning sessions and math related school professional development

advising and supporting math related goals and actions in the school improvement plan

? Serve as a resource for school(s) on research-based best practices in mathematics instruction and parental and home involvement to support student success in mathematics.

? Work collaboratively with school and district staff, administration, and the elementary Math Intervention Teacher team to improve the elementary mathematics program.
