Job Summary
We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Environmental Services Assistant I. The main focus of this role is to perform daily cleaning of patient rooms multiple times throughout the day, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment that enhances patient experience, safety, and overall perception of care.
Job Description
- Perform operational cleaning of patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas in accordance with infection control policies and departmental procedures.
- Maintain all carts, closets, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition; remove empty boxes and ensure areas are free from clutter.
- Replenish supplies (paper, soap, etc.) throughout the hospital.
- Clean and disinfect precaution rooms following infection control policies/procedures.
- Collect and remove trash and soiled linen from assigned areas, transport soiled equipment and sharps containers to utility rooms.
- Respond promptly to Environmental Services texts/calls and ensure the work phone is active and applications are logged in at the start of each shift.
- Attend scheduled in-service training programs and comply with all departmental safety standards.
- Report maintenance problems, damages, or unsafe conditions to Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Maintain a professional, helpful, and productive attitude in all interactions with patients, staff, and visitors.
Skills Required
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience
- Must have prior operational room cleaning experience (hospital setting preferred)
Education/Training/Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
Additional Requirements
- Schedule Notes: start at 7am
- Dress code: teal scrubs
Pay Rate
- $17.00 per hour
