Deputy Town Clerk/Assistant to the Assessor
HELP WANTED: Deputy Clerk & Assistant to the Assessor
The Town of Tupper Lake is seeking a motivated and organized individual to fill the position of Deputy Clerk and Assistant to the Assessor . This is an entry-level position available as either Part-Time or Full-Time , offering an excellent opportunity to serve the local community. Please note that as a municipal position, compensation is predetermined by the Adopted Town Budget and is non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting the public and assisting taxpayers with inquiries.
- Answering multi-line phone systems and managing email correspondence.
- Assisting with Vital Records (Birth, Death, and Marriage licenses).
- Supporting the Assessor with data entry, filing, and clerical tasks.
- Maintaining organized digital and physical filing systems.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Email, etc.).
- High level of attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Willingness to learn municipal procedures and state regulations.
