This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with grant requirements, accurate financial reporting, and the maintenance of financial documentation to support program and organizational operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit accounting and grant management, including City, State, and Federal funding, and will be comfortable working closely with program, clinical, development, and finance teams in a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Track and manage all grant revenues and expenditures, ensuring compliance with grant agreements, approved budgets, and applicable regulations.

Oversee time-and-effort tracking and personnel cost allocations across multiple funding sources, ensuring payroll expenses are properly supported, consistently applied, and compliant with funder and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local cost allowability standards (including Uniform Guidance, where applicable), and support audit readiness by maintaining clear documentation for salary allocations, shared costs, and cost allocation methodologies.
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities related to grant funds, including reconciliations and journal entries.
Maintain organized financial records, supporting documentation, and audit trails for all assigned grants.
Coordinate with external auditors, government agencies, and funders during audits, monitoring visits, and site reviews.
Stay current on changes in grant regulations, compliance standards, and reporting requirements, particularly those affecting healthcare, workforce, and government-funded programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Three or more years of nonprofit accounting experience, with specific experience in grant accounting and compliance.
Strong understanding of City, State, and Federal government funding requirements.
Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with fund accounting software preferred.
Knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting principles.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a complex, fast-paced healthcare environment.
