Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Attorney sought on behalf of a New York-Based investment and technology development firm.

The firm seeks a talented attorney to join its Legal & Compliance group, focusing on the development and oversight of the firm’s AI governance and compliance frameworks. Working within a collaborative and fast-paced environment, this individual will play a key role in supporting the firm’s responsible adoption of AI across a range of business functions. The position offers the opportunity to engage with innovative technologies and complex regulatory challenges, partnering with colleagues across the firm to ensure compliance with evolving legal and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise business partners on the commercial and legal aspects of compensation and benefits.
• Draft, negotiate, and analyze compensation (cash and equity) and employee benefits plans and agreements.
• Have the opportunity to research and analyze legal issues in other areas of the firm’s existing businesses and potential new activities.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• A law degree and at least four years of experience in compensation and benefits at a law firm and/or in-house, including meaningful experience drafting complex executive compensation arrangements for investment management firms or other financial services businesses.
• Demonstrated record of academic achievement; excellent analytical abilities; sound judgment; keen attention to detail; and proven drafting, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with employee benefits law (including ERISA and the Affordable Care Act) is preferred, given this role will involve meaningful day-to-day engagement with benefits matters.

Company Benefits

The expected annual base salary for this position is $250,000 to $275,000. The compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
