Assistant Baker

We are looking for a passionate pastry professional to join our team of artisan bakers. As an Assistant Baker at Somedays Bakery, you will support both sweet and savory production while contributing to a hardworking, collaborative team. The ideal candidate is excited to grow their skills across a wide range of pastry techniques, including producing high-quality creams, doughs, cookies, and savory items. You should be dedicated to consistency, craftsmanship, and maintaining Somedays’ commitment to exceptional quality. Our goal is to deliver the best possible customer experience while expanding and elevating the Somedays brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with daily sweet and savory production across the bakery
  ● Prepare and refine pastry creams, fillings, cookies, doughs, and savory menu items
  ● Support general production tasks, including scaling ingredients, mixing, and prep work
  ● Maintain high product quality by observing consistency, texture, and flavor, and adjusting methods as needed
  ● Check the quality of raw materials to ensure standards and specifications are met
  ● Follow portioning guidelines and production standards
  ● Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs
  ● Properly label, organize, and store ingredients
  ● Maintain a clean and orderly workstation and adhere to all health and safety standards

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• 1–2 years of professional pastry or bakery experience preferred
  ● Experience with basic pastry techniques such as pastry creams, fillings, curds, and dough production
  ● Ability to lift 50+ lbs without restriction
  ● Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  ● Strong time management skills and a sense of urgency
  ● Solid basic math and recipe scaling skills
  ● Must be available to work early mornings, weekends, and some holidays
  ● Must follow all food safety regulations and company procedures

Compensation: Hourly ($18.00 - $20.00)
