Software Engineer - All Levels

GlossGenius is seeking Software Engineers at all levels to join our Product or Platform-based teams and help build AI features that transform how our customers operate and grow their businesses. Product-focused engineers solve key customer problems at the intersection of business needs and technical solutions, while Platform-focused engineers build scalable, reliable, and extensible systems that empower product teams to deliver quality and customer value.

Responsibilities will include:

• Develop, release, and run large-scale web applications that empower beauty and wellness businesses to operate and grow
• Build new AI features for customers
• Develop and define microservice-based infrastructure
• Build tools and solutions that enable internal teams to work faster, more effectively, and improve the value provided to users
• Work on core experiences such as friction-free payments, tools to help customers earn more per hour, and solutions for business growth and team management
• Focus on front-end development, crafting intuitive and engaging user experiences for web and mobile applications
• Improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security for backend systems

You’re a great fit if you:

• Have 2+ years of professional experience in software development
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or have equivalent practical experience
• Have a strong desire to move fast and make a significant impact
• Possess an entrepreneurial mindset and are eager to take ownership and contribute new ideas
• Have hands-on experience building with AI/ML APIs or LLMs, and have shipped real products using AI
• Can analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of system resources
• Demonstrate strong collaboration skills and team spirit

Technical stack includes:

• Kotlin (micronaut, jooq), Ruby (Rails, Sidekiq), gRPC, protobuf
• Typescript / Javascript (React, Redux)
• React Native
• AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, Terraform

Total Compensation

The starting base salary for this role in New York is between $150,000-$230,000 plus target equity and benefits. The base salary offered depends on skills, experience, and education.

This role requires the ability to work in the NYC office 3-4 days per week, with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
