The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The Registered Nurse 2 (Geriatrics) will coordinate, direct, and provide professional nursing care to residents of the nursing home under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Director of Nursing/Director of Nursing. The Registered Nurse 2 (Geriatrics) will develop, update, and monitor nursing care objectives in treatment plans for individuals and administer nursing treatments. They will help develop and participate in nursing orientation programs which include education and training needs for nursing staff. They will review records and discuss staff and program requirements with facility managers. The incumbent will also serve as a member of various committees and workgroups concerned with individual treatment and care issues or topics.Notes: 1. The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Transfers: Current New York State employee with one or more years of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service in a position allocated to Grade 18 or above, and that is eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law to Registered Nurse 2 (Geriatric). Open Competitive HELPS qualifications: Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with a geriatric population.Minimum Qualifications Substitution: A bachelor’s degree in nursing can substitute for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master’s degree in nursing can substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience. Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have experience in a long-term care facility. Additional comments regarding the vacancy. Posted salary range ( $123,173 to $133,121) includes statutory hiring rate at step 4 and job rate for PS&T Grade 20, and an additional geographic pay differential of $35,000 and downstate adjustment of $4,000.Inconvenience pay program of $575 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) hours or more between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Hours worked between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on an overtime basis are not included for Inconvenience Pay. Additional Shift differential of 7% for evening shift and 10% for Night shift.This position is part of the NYS HELPS program. No examination is required.
