The Human Resources Administrative Assistant performs all the administrative and clerical tasks for the payroll function and provides administrative support to the human resources department.

Full Time, Non-Exempt Position
Located: On-Site, 54 Margaret Street; Plattsburgh NY
Hourly Rate of Pay: $22.39

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Ensures bi-weekly payroll runs are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Prepares and generate all payroll reports, journal entries, and records.
  • Processes and inputs employee information and changes to payroll.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries.
  • Maintains all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures.
  • Reconciles and balances payroll related accounts and petty cash box.
  • Reviews all fringe benefit invoices for additions and deletions to assure accuracy of payment. And prepares vouchers for all payroll related bills.
  • Provides back up to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties.
  • Provides assistance to CEO and Senior Management with a variety of administrative tasks, as directed through Chief Executive Officer.
  • Assists with coordinating and managing projects and Agency meetings.
  • Organizes and files Agency personnel records and documentation.
  • Supports the organization and management of new employee orientation, onboarding, and training programs.
  • Assists with job postings and tracking the status of candidates in Applicant Tracking system.
  • Processes formalities for terminations.
  • Updates human resources databases, i.e. Applicant Tracking System, Leave Manager, Mineral.
  • Documents and tracks human resources actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Composes and reviews correspondence as requested.
  • Attends all required trainings.
  • Maintains compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the Joint Council for Economic Opportunity, Inc.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or related field is required. Six months of related experience and/or training is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

SHRM-PHR and Payroll Certification preferred.
