Job Summary

The Dolomite Internship Program creates an opportunity for college students to gain practical hands-on experience while working in their course of study under the close direction of an experienced supervisor/manager. As an Operations Intern, you will learn to support the processes of our company as it relates to production goals and standards. Interns in this position will gain exposure to several aspects of our company including but not limited to: safety, quality, outputs and the application of regulatory standards in a dynamic industrial setting.

Job Responsibilities

• Support operations with daily administrative tasks
• Coordinate the activities of employees engaged in production
• Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
• Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
• Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
• Observe work and monitor gauges, dials and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards
• Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other record and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs

Job Requirements

• Internship candidate – college student enrolled or recently graduated from a credited program
• Experience in Quarry or Mining industries a plus
• Understanding of leadership skills and strong communication skills
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to comprehend and communicate to others the requirements of technical specifications, regulations, reports, and manuals
• Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data
• Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish fact and draw valid conclusions
• Strong Computer Skills, specifically in Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license and reliable automobile
• Willingness to drive to our multiple sites across the Greater Rochester Region and Southern Tier with mileage reimbursement program
