Food Runner

Grand Army South is the food outpost of Grand Army Bar (a beloved Brooklyn cocktail bar and seafood restaurant) located in Threes Brewing Greenpoint location. Grand Army South delivers the same quality, hospitality, and energy in a more casual, high-volume setting.

We’re seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Food Runner to join our team in our Greenpoint space. This role is fast-paced and service-focused, ideal for someone who thrives on teamwork, efficiency, and keeping the flow of service running smoothly. You’ll play a key role in connecting the kitchen to our guests, ensuring dishes are delivered quickly, accurately, and with care.

• Running food from the kitchen to guests quickly, accurately, and with attention to presentation

• Communicating clearly with kitchen staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and in a timely manner

• Supporting the kitchen team by helping organize the pass, stocking necessary service items, and maintaining a clean workspace

• Describing dishes when delivering them to guests and answering basic menu questions

• Assisting with clearing plates and maintaining clean, organized dining areas as needed

• Communicating dietary restrictions or special requests to the kitchen team

• Alerting management to any guest issues or service needs that arise during service

• Assisting with opening and closing side work as assigned by ownership

• Supporting the kitchen with light prep, organization, or deep cleaning projects as directed by the Executive Chef

• Learning and following all Department of Health (DOH) guidelines

• Adhere to the schedule created by ownership; arrive on time and with a neat, clean appearance

• Maintain a calm, focused demeanor during busy service

• Be organized and proactive; take notes and stay attentive to service needs

• Be courteous, professional, and kind to guests and fellow team members

• Be a team player who is eager to jump in wherever needed to support both FOH and BOH

• Be open to feedback and committed to improvement

• Communicate responsibly and maturely about any issues that arise so they can be resolved quickly
