Bar Blondeau Sous Chef

Position Summary

The Sous Chef is a hands-on leader responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and organization. This role supports the daily operations of Bar Blondeau while collaborating with other culinary departments throughout the hotel to ensure seamless execution and an exceptional guest experience. Working alongside the Chef de Cuisine and Chef Partner, the Sous Chef helps oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from service execution and team development to inventory management and operational efficiency. This position leads by example, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring every service reflects Bar Blondeau's commitment to excellence. The Sous Chef is expected to anticipate the needs of the team, solve problems in real time, and help create an environment where both guests and staff can thrive.

• Lead and support the kitchen team throughout daily service.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of every dish.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards.
• Assist with prep, ordering, inventory management, and scheduling.
• Train, mentor, and develop cooks while fostering a positive and accountable team culture.
• Support the development and execution of seasonal menu changes and new dishes.

• 2+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume, quality-driven kitchen.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Calm, professional, and solution-oriented under pressure.
• Passion for seasonal ingredients and thoughtful, ingredient-driven cooking.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand and work on your feet for up to 8+ hours.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds comfortably.
