Contract Opportunity: Fundraising Consultant Organization: Manhattan Christian Academy (MCA), Inwood, NYC

About MCA: Manhattan Christian Academy is a private Christian school serving approximately 150 students from prekindergarten through 12th grade. Accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and the Middle States Association, MCA’s mission is to educate NYC children to lead and serve by knowing God and understanding His world.

Project Scope: Fundraising Strategy & Implementation

MCA is seeking a contract-based Fundraising Consultant to support the development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising program. The ideal consultant will bring creativity, initiative, and strategic expertise to expand the school’s donor base and grow annual contributions. This role is ideal for a mission-driven fundraising professional interested in partnering with a Christian school community on a part-time, project-based basis.

Key Qualifications:

• A born-again Christian actively walking in accordance with biblical principles.
• Demonstrated experience in nonprofit fundraising, including major gifts and donor cultivation.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with donor databases, grant writing, and event coordination is a plus.

Consultant Responsibilities:

Strategic Fundraising Plan:

• Design and deliver a tailored fundraising strategy with clear objectives, timelines, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with MCA leadership to align fundraising goals with institutional priorities.
• Provide regular progress reports on key fundraising metrics.

Donor Development & Relationship Building:

• Identify, research, and cultivate donor prospects across individual, corporate, and foundation categories.
• Support the development of an Alumni association and foster alumni engagement.
• Coordinate communications and stewardship for donors, including acknowledgments and updates.
• Recommend and assist in implementing donor appreciation events or campaigns.

Grants & Giving Programs:

• Identify and pursue grant opportunities aligned with MCA’s mission.
• Develop proposals for foundations and other funding entities.
• Propose a Planned Giving framework and identify viable donor prospects for long-term support.

Volunteer & Campaign Coordination:

• Help recruit and guide fundraising volunteers or campaign committees as needed.
• Provide strategic input and creative direction for fundraising communications and materials.

Engagement Details:

• This is a contract-based.
• Timeline, deliverables, and compensation will be defined in collaboration with the selected consultant, taking into account their experience and scope.
