Ultrasound Technologist Job Details

Ultrasound Technologist Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology or Medical Sonography
• Minimum 1 year of radiologic or imaging experience
• Specialized experience in Medical Sonography
• Vascular and obstetric sonography experience required
• Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
• Current BCLS certification
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
• Proficient with major sonography equipment, hardware, and software
• Ability to meet on-call requirements
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Professional maturity, integrity, and confidentiality
• Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and manage multiple projects
• Maintains all required registries and licenses per state and federal law

Ultrasound Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including vascular and obstetric studies
• Operate and maintain ultrasound and sonography equipment
• Communicate diagnostic findings with physicians and healthcare professionals
• Ensure accurate documentation and maintain patient records
• Deliver excellent patient care and customer service
• Participate in department training and comply with on-call specifics
• Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities
