Mailroom Service Specialist

Do you have 1-2 years of RECENT mailroom experience? Are you comfortable with $19/hr on a WEEKLY basis? This could be the perfect opportunity for you! Shift - 9am-6pm Onsite in Manhattan Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1–2 years of experience in mailroom, retail, or a related service field.
• Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods. You will be walking between campus buildings frequently.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office/Email and the ability to learn digital scanning and filing systems.

Professionalism: Excellent communication skills and a "business casual" appearance (collared shirts recommended; no jeans).

Responsibilities

• Mail & Package Handling: Sort incoming mail into boxes and process packages using scanning software.
• Site Support: Manage operations across four locations (135 E 12th St, 318 E 15th St, 301 First Ave, and 65 Fifth Ave). All sites are within a 10-minute walk of each other.
• Use high-volume mail management systems, postage meters, and basic office hardware (copiers, shrink-wrap machines, etc.).
• Customer Service: Act as a primary point of contact for students and staff regarding package status and mail inquiries.

Facility Tasks: Maintain clean and stocked copier/mail areas; perform light maintenance or meeting room setups as requested.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working weekends
