Position Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) for our Outpatient Clinic Responsibilities: * Provide Substance Abuse Treatment services through individual, group and family counseling in compliance with OASAS regulations and Champlain Valley Family Center policy and procedures. * Conduct psychosocial assessments of recipients in crisis, determining substance use needs and the appropriate course of action. * Complete screenings/assessments/evaluations and make referrals to other levels of care utilizing the LOCADTR * Connect recipients to community resources, including inpatient treatment, detox programs, mental health services, housing and employment assistance. * Offer immediate support and crisis intervention for individuals experiencing acute substance-related issues or emotional distress, ensuring their safety and stability. * Complete documentation of services within the required time frames as mandated by Champlain Valley Family Center, OASAS and other funding and regulatory sources. * Develop, implement and evaluate individualized services plans and updates for recipients admitted into services, document services and maintain case records in a confidential manner. * Participate in clinic quality improvement committees and activities as needed * Provide education and support to families and loved ones of recipients, helping them understand the dynamics of addiction, the recovery process, and how to support their loved ones in recovery. * Consistent follow-up with all recipients, and as appropriate families, to promote engagement and retention in services and to ensure all barriers to service access and use are addressed. * Assist recipients in obtaining additional services as needed * Work collaboratively with other agencies and outside providers to ensure seamless integration of services particularly for those with acute and complex needs. * Participate in treatment and recovery team meetings to address the needs of recipients Qualifications: * CASAC * Experience working in a behavioral health or substance abuse treatment setting. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
