Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Travel) in Utica, NY. Start date: 06/08/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed 36 hours per week and 12-hour shifts. - Unit/setting: Emergency Department in a hospital; float coverage required Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for ED patients across the lifespan, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Perform initial triage, comprehensive assessment, and ongoing re-evaluation; develop and implement care plans with input from the multidisciplinary team
- Administer medications and IV therapies, manage critical infusions and drips per protocol, and assist with rapid response and code blue interventions
- Monitor patient status, interpret trends, and respond to deteriorating conditions; utilize specialized equipment as indicated (e.g., rapid infusor)
- Document all care in the electronic health record (EPIC), including interventions, medications, and patient education; ensure accurate handoffs during shift changes
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other professionals; participate in unit float coverage and support charge nurse activities when assigned Requirements
- Active NY registered nursing license (NURSYS verification) or eligible; NY licensure must be current
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS required; TNCC is required
- Experience: 2+ years of ED experience; some pediatric exposure preferred; travel experience required and documented
- EMR: EPIC experience is required
- Age-specific care ability: comfortable delivering care to newborns through geriatrics
- Additional: Driver’s license with address that matches demographics; RTO (request for time off) must be included at submission; must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (locals accepted at local rate) Benefits and Support
