Staff Accountant
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly sales tax reports
- Maintain annual property tax filings and requirements
- Maintain department calendar for filing and payment due dates
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and monthly depreciation
- Process vendor invoices as needed
- Process trust reserve payments in Aderant and prepare bank transfers
- Monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts
- Monthly review of stale dated checks for further resolution
- Prepare daily positive pay files to send to bank
- Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and revenue accounts, including firm credit cards and refunds to client – analyze material variances
- Assist with client overpayments and refund process
- Monthly administrative overhead expense allocations
- Assist in the monthly closing of accounting records and generation of financial reports for department review
- Vendor 1099 preparation and reconciliations at year end and monitor compliance throughout the calendar year
- Assist with the preparation and gathering of accounting information to external accountants for year-end audit
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- BS in Accounting – 1-3 Years related experience, or associate’s degree with 5+ Years related accounting experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in English
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Regularly required to observe and assess data and documents, in printed form and on computer screens
- May be requested to work beyond normal work hours and weekends for special projects
- Works well in a team environment
- Ability to work independently within general guidelines and minimal supervision
- Ability to recognize the need for confidentiality of information and to maintain such confidences
- Ability to respond to internal or external inquiries, including those of a sensitive, confidential, or adversarial nature
The annual salary range for this position is $58,000- $70,000. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also offers bonuses, and a full benefits package.
