Job Title : Payroll Assistant

Location : New York, NY

Shift : Day Shift (Mon–Fri)

Schedule : Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Duration : 5 Weeks (Temp, Temp-to-Hire / Extension Possible)

Pay Rate: $28 – $32 per hour

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Payroll Assistant for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY.

Key Responsibilities

• Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees
• Assist with wage garnishments and ensure accurate deductions
• Verify benefits deductions for accuracy
• Process payroll transfer reports
• Conduct payroll audits to ensure data integrity and compliance
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
• Support leadership with accounting and payroll-related projects
• Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies
• Ensure confidentiality of employee financial data
• Follow company payroll policies and procedures

R equired Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience in payroll or related administrative/accounting role
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Basic knowledge of payroll processes and deductions
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with QuickBooks
• Experience with Pay Choice or Payroll Associates systems
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Strong Excel skills (data entry, formulas, reporting)

Education

High School Diploma or GED (Required)
