Content Specialist
Job Title: Editorial Content & Channel Specialist, Employee Engagement (Contract)
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid Schedule)
Employment Type: Contract | Full-Time (40 hrs/week)
Overview
A leading global consumer brand is seeking an Editorial Content & Channel Specialist, Employee Engagement to support internal communications initiatives for U.S.-based employees. This role will focus on developing engaging editorial content, managing internal communication channels, and supporting employee engagement strategies across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer and storyteller with experience in internal or corporate communications, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Messaging & Communications
- Drive employee-focused communications across internal channels including intranet, email, and digital signage
- Tailor messaging to maximize engagement and effectiveness across audiences
- Manage and maintain a shared editorial calendar for employee communications
- Serve as editor for employee-facing communications and provide strategic communication guidance across departments
- Partner with internal stakeholders to create editorial and multimedia content, including studio-based communications initiatives
- Track communication performance through surveys, engagement metrics, and feedback to continuously improve communication strategies
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with communications and engagement teams to ensure consistent messaging and integrated storytelling
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and communications partners across the organization
- Support implementation of global internal communications initiatives adapted for U.S.-based audiences
Qualifications
Required
- 3–6 years of experience in a fast-paced content production or communications environment
- Experience in Internal Communications, Corporate Communications, or related fields
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline
Preferred Skills
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong editorial judgment and storytelling abilities
- Experience with video scripting, storyboarding, and content production
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities with speed and accuracy
- Self-starter mindset with strong collaboration skills
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving business environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with CMS platforms and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
