The Seafood manager provides customer-friendly service to our valuable customers and provides the quality products that Adams is known for. This means fulfilling customer requests, ensuring that the department operates smoothly, preparing all seafood specialties, stocking and rotating the case, being expertiseable about product, and keeping the department clean.

Job Description
»Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer-friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging customers, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product expertise, and assisting customers with their questions
»Greet customers personally and thank them appreciatively for shopping at Adams
»Be expertiseable of all product, including cooking times and methods, product sources, how it was raised (farm or wild), and whether product is fresh or frozen
»Be expertiseable of all ingredients in pre-cooked frozen items, salads, and sides
»Be responsible for training new associates
»Direct associates on how to complete tasks and make sure assigned tasks are completed
»Delegate work to improve and maintain smooth and efficient department operations
»Stock and rotate products to keep older product in front and stock cases and ice tables, making sure each product is correctly labeled and there are no empty spaces
»Safely cut, clean, weigh, and package fish and other products from case according to customer’s specifications
»Prepare all ready-made products, including crab cakes, soups, salads, lobster mac, and stuffed fish
»Pre-pack items for grab-and-go coolers, including cocktail sauce and salads
»Create specialty platters and custom orders
»Fry or steam fish, lobsters, and crab legs and products for lunch specials
»Take special orders in person and on the phone
»If assigned, break down fish for the case into fillets or steaks
»Be responsible for making sure cases, displays and coolers are kept full and organized with correct signage
»Stock and rotate products to keep older product in front and stock cases and ice tables, making sure each product is correctly labeled and there are no empty spaces
»Stock and merchandise self-serve cases
»Be aware of sale items and pricing
»Be the final line for quality control: look for packaging issues, sell-by dates, and be vigilant about quality and presentation of all products put into the case
»Receive deliveries; check delivery ticket against what was ordered and received
»Keep all areas of the department clean and organized, including sales floor, counters, cases, coolers and preparation and production areas
»When a customer needs assistance, give the customer priority over the task at hand
Physical Requirements
»Consistently lift and move 60 pounds
»Stand for duration of shift
»Be at least 18 years old
»Be food safety certified
»Safely use knives and other equipment necessary to run the department
Mental/Reasoning Requirements
»Communicate clearly with customers and coworkers
»Employees are our internal customers; treat them with the same courtesy and respect as our external customers
»Must work efficiently and at a productive pace per department needs
»Must be able to work scheduled shift
»Follow all department safety policies and procedures
»Understand weights, measurements, and fractions
»Be able to concentrate on the task at hand in order to avoid injury and waste of product
»Be expertiseable about Adams product – recommend cooking methods and ideas to customers by exploring customer preferences and advocating Adams product
