Nurse Manager, Emergency Department
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager of Emergency Services to oversee nursing operations within our healthcare facilities ER. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ER and some experience in nursing management, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care. This role requires excellent Emergency Department leadership skills, the ability to coordinate discharge planning, and experience in critical care settings. The ED Nurse Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and maintaining high standards of patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to nursing practices.
- Oversee discharge planning processes for patients, ensuring smooth transitions of care.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided by nursing staff.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with infection control standards and regulations.
- Provide training and support for staff on the use of Cerner and other medical software systems.
- Ensure that all staff are trained in basic life support and critical care protocols.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages professional development among nursing staff.
Qualifications
BSN degree and MSN degree is required. We are prepared to meet with a candidate who is currently enrolled in an MSN program and will be graduating in a year. Current New York State Licensed Registered Nurse
· Current BLS certification required. ACLS and PALS are also needed.
· At least 3 – 5 years’ experience as a Nurse Manager
