Certified Peer Recovery Advocate

Responsibilities

• Facilitate outreach to individuals in treatment programs or considering treatment, enhancing their engagement and commitment to recovery.
• Provide non-clinical crisis support, particularly after hospitalization or incarceration.
• Educate program participants about various recovery modes and connect them to community-based recovery support.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and assist with applying for benefits.
• Raise awareness of social and support services available to participants.
• Collaborate with treatment teams to align support with recovery and discharge plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum CRPA provisional certification, with completion of 500 clock hours within 6 months of employment.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license.
• At least two years of personal recovery experience and active engagement in a recovery network.
• Knowledge of recovery support systems, including 12-step support groups.
• Experience facilitating recovery support groups.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to utilize electronic health records.
