Certified Peer Recovery Advocate

Responsibilities
- Facilitate outreach to individuals in treatment programs or considering treatment, enhancing their engagement and commitment to recovery.
- Provide non-clinical crisis support, particularly after hospitalization or incarceration.
- Educate program participants about various recovery modes and connect them to community-based recovery support.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and assist with applying for benefits.
- Raise awareness of social and support services available to participants.
- Collaborate with treatment teams to align support with recovery and discharge plans.
Qualifications
- Minimum CRPA provisional certification, with completion of 500 clock hours within 6 months of employment.
- Valid NYS Driver’s license.
- At least two years of personal recovery experience and active engagement in a recovery network.
- Knowledge of recovery support systems, including 12-step support groups.
- Experience facilitating recovery support groups.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to utilize electronic health records.
