The Customer Service Project Coordinator (CSPC) is responsible for managing all aspects of customer order/project requirements from inception to completion. The CSPC serves as the primary job and project support liaison for sales, customers, production, and all other internal PPC departments. Coordinates print/packaging jobs and communicates with the appropriate resources required about the jobs to ensure that the company's goals and client's objectives are achieved on time and on budget.

The CSPC will work in a fast-paced environment that requires collaborative people skills, excellent time management, problem solving, challenge/risk mitigation and the ability to work effectively while under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer orders/projects through all areas and phases of PPC's operations
  • Act as primary job and project liaison for management, sales, internal departments, and customers
  • Receive, review, and confirm specifications included in Requests for Quotes
  • Effectively and proactively communicate and follow up with any/all stakeholders necessary to provide strong customer service specific to project/job requirements
  • Creation, planning, and distribution of manufacturing work orders and job tickets that contain specific, pertinent, and detailed information as it relates to the job from receipt of art to delivery of the job
  • Work with sales, prepress, scheduling, production, and management as needed to establish schedules for printing and finishing production as well as to help manage the flow and progress of print work and projects from their inception through completion
  • Continuous multi-tasking and managing several jobs/projects simultaneously at various stages with changing priorities and requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of the status of WIP as well as upcoming jobs and proactively communicate related information as needed with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with sales, production, and management to resolve customer-related challenges and issues
  • Works with all resources to resolve customer complaints, quality issues, delivery challenges, etc.
  • Continuously identify and facilitate the implementation of cost-saving and efficiency improvements
  • Special projects as assigned by management. Projects Examples - process improvement, R&D, business development, new product development, cost management.
  • Other duties as directed

Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be/become very familiar with printing, die cutting, and folding carton equipment (running speeds, equipment capabilities, efficiencies), paper performance/pricing, and knowledgeable in all production phases (pre-press, press, finishing, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Able to effectively communicate with sales, production, and directly with customers
  • Organizational (Project Management) and time management skills. Must be able to perform multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment with the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Strong mathematical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel, knowledge of Mac OS and AutoCAD would be desirable
  • Is highly organized and possesses excellent follow-up skills with the ability to respond quickly to changes in the project/job specifications and production schedule
  • Exceptional attention to detail is essential as well as a keen eye for print color
  • Must be very responsive with both external and internal customers at all levels; builds and maintains relationships by using a consultative approach

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 6+ years of printing and/or folding carton packaging industry experience in one or more of the following roles: Project Coordination, Customer Service, Estimating, Purchasing, or Planning
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field preferred
  • Extensive work experience in lieu of a degree will also be considered
  • Experience in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for Order Processing, Material Requirements, Production Methods and Planning
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong history and experience using organization, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Photoshop Illustration, InDesign, AutoCAD
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Printing and/or folding carton packaging industry experience in one or more of the following roles: Project Coordination, Customer Service, Design, Estimating, Purchasing, or Planning
