Events Sales Manager
Summary: The Event Sales Manager is responsible for driving social, corporate, and special event revenue across all Food & Beverage outlets within The Grayson. This position oversees the complete sales cycle—from lead generation and site tours through contracting, planning, execution, and post-event follow-up—while delivering exceptional guest experiences and maximizing profitability.
Working closely with F&B Operations and Marketing, the Event Sales Manager develops strategic partnerships, builds long-term client relationships, and positions The Grayson as one of New York City's premier destinations for private events and dining experiences. Successful event sales leaders combine proactive business development with strong operational execution and financial acumen.
Responsibilities:
● Revenue & Business Growth: Drive achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets by analyzing market booking trends, producing comprehensive sales and forecast reports, and partnering with Marketing to promote seasonal packages and unique event offerings.
● Sales Development: Proactively prospect and convert leads across corporate, social, and nonprofit sectors; manage an active sales pipeline through the CRM, conduct compelling venue tours, and promptly respond to all inquiries to maximize conversion rates.
● Client Relationship & Account Management: Serve as the dedicated primary point of contact from initial inquiry through event completion, fostering long-term client relationships and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction by resolving concerns immediately.
● Event Planning: Orchestrate the end-to-end event planning process by creating tailored proposals, contracts, BEOs, and timelines, and collaborating closely with culinary and beverage teams to design bespoke menu and drink packages.
● Operational Excellence & Coordination: Ensure flawless event execution by coordinating effectively across all departments (Culinary, Beverage, Leadership, etc.) and attending key events to uphold service standards and operational protocols.
● Financial Oversight: Maintain rigorous financial control by preparing profitable pricing proposals, managing deposits, overseeing final billing and collections, and participating in weekly BEO and operational planning meetings.
Must Haves:
● 3–5 years of event sales, catering sales, or hospitality sales experience in upscale restaurants, hotels, or event venues.
● Proven record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals.
● Strong knowledge of food, beverage, wine, and hospitality operations.
● Experience preparing contracts, proposals, and Banquet Event Orders.
● Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
● Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
● Experience using Tripleseat, OpenTable, or similar CRM/event management software preferred.
● Proficiency with Google Workspace.
