Summary: To operate and maintain the Greenidge Generation LLC's Natural Gas Pipeline, Natural Gas fired Boiler & 106 MW Steam Turbine in Dresden, New York by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand and practice all safety programs & equipment:
  • PPE.
  • Fire and Accident emergency procedures.
  • Be able to identify and react to all safety hazards.
  • Be familiar with the contractor safety orientation.
  • Fall Protection
  • Lock-out Tag-out Program
  • Confined Space Program
  • Hot Work Permit Program
  • Switching & Tagging
• Responsibilities for operating and maintaining all plant components including:
  • Condensate System
  • Feedwater System
  • Steam System
  • Turbine Steam Flow Path
• Boiler Operation
• Boiler Chemistry
• Combustion Air System
• Draft Air System
• Air Preheater Operation
• Flue Gas Path
• Fuel Flow Path
• Turbine Lube Oil System
• Seal Oil System
• Circulating Water Flow Path
• Hydrogen Cooling System
• Waste Water Treatment Plant
• LOTO Mark-up Party
• LOTO Tagging Authority
• Operate in a manner that will ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. *
• Produce power economically and operate the generation facility in a manner to exceed the facility goals.
• Responsibilities also include operating and maintaining the plant in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, including but not limited to Title V Air permit, SPDES and other environmental permits.
• This position requires mandatory overtime, and call outs.
• Be aware that other duties may be assigned.

• Must possess a NYS Driver's License.
• Must Pass DOT Drug Test and Pre-Screening Physical and position will be subjected to DOT Random Drug Testing.
• Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions.
• This position requires working a rotating 12-hour shift.
• The responsibilities of this position include being able to operate the control board within one year.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or a degree from technical/vocational school, military service or equivalent; and/or two to four years related experience and/or training as a power plant operator, a mechanic, millwright or equivalent preferred.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of using email and word processing software, spreadsheet software and database software. This job will require online training modules through GPI-Learn, a computer-based training program.
