Licensed Practical Nurse - ED/Peds ED - LPNEP #002
Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – ED/Peds ED
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Nights – 6 x 12-Hour Shifts Biweekly
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every Other Weekend and Some Holidays Required
Compensation:
- Traveler Pay: $65–$70/hr based on experience
- Local Pay: $40–$47/hr based on experience
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Emergency Department (ED) and/or Pediatric Emergency Department experience to provide high-quality patient care within a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in IV placement, phlebotomy, and patient-centered care while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient care functions in an acute care emergency setting with minimal orientation and supervision
- Assist with IV placement and phlebotomy procedures
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, patients, and families to support quality patient care
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and clinical records
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ED/Pediatric ED environment
- Support patient safety, infection prevention, and facility protocols
- Assist with treatments, procedures, and routine nursing care as directed
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
Required Qualifications:
Licensure & Certifications:
- Current New York State LPN License
- Current CPR Certification required
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of LPN experience required
- Emergency Department and/or Pediatric ED experience preferred
- Prior inpatient experience preferred
- Experience with IV placement and phlebotomy required
