Espresso-Candy Manager (Bench) LI

Do you have a sweet tooth and a passion for coffee? Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is looking for an experienced Espresso-Candy Manager for our gourmet Coffee and Candy Department! Lead our combined Candy & Espresso Bar, manage a dynamic team, and create a delightful experience for every customer.

This role is responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service, product quality, merchandising, food safety, and operational efficiency. This position requires travel to Long Island area store locations to provide leadership support during vacations, leaves of absence, staffing shortages, new store openings, and other operational needs, ensuring consistency and continuity across the organization

Your Role:

1. Manage all operations of the Candy-Espresso Department, including staffing, scheduling, inventory, merchandising, and customer service
2. Hire, train, and coach department staff to maintain high standards
3. Ensure candy and drink orders are filled promptly and accurately
4. Oversee equipment functionality and address issues immediately
5. Maintain cleanliness, safety, and food handling standards
6. Evaluate department processes and suggest improvements to enhance service and menu options
7. Assist customers with drink and candy selections and provide a friendly, knowledgeable experience
8. Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in a candy store or coffee house as a Lead Clerk or Assistant Manager
3. Proven experience managing staff, including hiring, scheduling, and training
4. Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
5. Knowledge of inventory, storage, shelf life, safety standards, and proper food handling
6. Ability to build strong relationships with customers and team members

Working Conditions:

1. Active role requiring frequent movement, bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 30 lbs; heavier items with assistance)
2. Indoor environment with temperature changes (freezers, ovens, coolers) and occasional loud equipment
3. Safe handling of cleaning agents, industrial tools, and hot beverages
