Mammography Technologist (Community)

Location: Syracuse, NY

Duration: 14 Weeks Contract

Shift: Day Shift – 5x8.5 Hour Shifts

Hours: 08:30 AM – 05:00 PM | 42.5 Hours/Week
Monday through Friday

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mammography Technologist for an acute care hospital setting in Syracuse, New York. The ideal candidate should be comfortable performing mammography and stereotactic breast procedures in a fast-paced imaging environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform mammography imaging procedures under radiologist direction
• Assist with stereotactic breast procedures and imaging support
• Prepare patients for breast imaging examinations and explain procedures clearly
• Position patients appropriately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
• Set appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters
• Maintain mammography quality standards and QA/QC procedures
• Follow ACR Mammography QA/QC Manual guidelines and departmental protocols
• Operate mammography imaging equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain compliance with MQSA continuing education requirements
• Document patient information accurately within RIS systems
• Support patient billing and imaging documentation processes
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging procedures
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards
• Assist with additional departmental tasks necessary to support quality patient care

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year mammography or radiologic imaging experience required
• Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent required
• Current NYS Radiologic Technologist license/registration required or eligible
• ARRT Mammography certification required or eligible
• Strong mammography positioning and imaging skills required
• Knowledge of breast imaging quality standards and radiation safety required
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced imaging environment required
• Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills required
• English proficiency required

Preferred:

• ARRT Credentialed in Breast Mammography
• Stereotactic breast procedure experience
• Acute care hospital imaging experience
• CPR Certification required
