Bar Blondeau Bartender
Position Summary
The Bar Blondeau Bartender is responsible for delivering a refined yet approachable dining experience that reflects the energy, sophistication, and hospitality of Wythe Hotel’s rooftop destination. This role goes beyond taking orders and serving food—it is about creating memorable guest experiences through genuine connection, thoughtful service, and a deep understanding of the restaurant’s food, beverage, and hospitality standards. Bartenders act as ambassadors of the Bar Blondeau brand, guiding guests through the menu, anticipating needs, and ensuring every interaction feels seamless and personalized. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, confidence in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and a passion for hospitality. By balancing technical service excellence with warmth and authenticity, the Bartender plays a vital role in building guest loyalty, enhancing the restaurant’s reputation, and contributing to the overall success of the operation.
Job Responsibilities
- Seeks to greet all guests warmly with enthusiasm whenever in service, present on the floor, and behind the bar.
- Manages a bar where drinks are made to Wythe hotel Specifications, bar is immaculate, and atmosphere is jovial.
- Has a discerning curiosity for spirits, cocktails, food, wine, hospitality and is self driven to continuously learn.
- Promotes warmth and positivity while being guest oriented.
- Able to assess the needs of all guests and make tailored recommendations.
- Actively participates in pre-shift meetings with menu and allergen knowledge.
- Seeks collaboration with staff members, management, and the kitchen during service.
- Has a desire and ability to assist co-workers during service for shared common goals.
- Ability to troubleshoot and manage guest expectations, and has the confidence to know when to ask for help from management.
- Complete opening, turnover, and closing checklist daily.
- Responsible for product rotation of all fruit, purees, milks, juices, syrups, infusions, bitters, and seasonal fruit.
- Help maintain wine & spirit inventory sheets by updating on an as needed basis.
- Naturally and confidently can entertain guests at their bar.
Requirements and Skills
- 2+ years in an NYC bar or equivalent experience; fine dining experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to study and memorize menu details to include cooking technique, allergens and drop-lines
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Fast-paced movements are required to go from one part of the bar to others.
- Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 20 to 60 pounds.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
