Billing Specialist Team Lead
- Manage the daily workflow for assigned billing practice group(s) in order to achieve weekly and monthly deadlines.
- Review and management of Billblast including new hire set up reporting, rejections, research and resolution of issues.
- Assist with billing inquiries and monthly accruals for assigned billing practice group(s).
- Monitor and support coverage for staff time off and other overflow as needed.
- Budgeting and assignment of missing matters within Ebilling sites where applicable.
- Train new hires within department and provide continued coaching and additional training as needed.
- Convey new information, procedures or policies to the team to ensure the instructions are clear.
- Serve as backup to Billing Team Supervisor for monthly prebill generation process.
- Monthly reporting of unreturned prebills and cycle ahead for assigned practice groups for inclusion in Billing Team Supervisor reporting.
- Develop knowledge of all Billing processes and applications to become subject matter expert regarding firm programs, including outside electronic billing vendors.
- Provide daily support to Billing Team with editing and processing prebills, submitting billing, and reviewing Billblast as needed.
- Special projects to be assigned by the Billing Team Supervisor.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and ownership of assigned practice group(s).
- Understanding the importance of follow-up and issue resolution to determine when escalation to Billing Team Supervisor is necessary.
- Bachelor’s Degree, associate’s degree, or at least three years of general accounting experience in a legal office environment .
- Knowledge of Billing including Ebilling
- Knowledge of office administration and procedures

- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
- Regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in English
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Regularly required to observe and assess data and documents, in printed form and on computer screens
- May be requested to work beyond normal work hours and weekends for special projects
- Works well in a team environment
- Ability to work independently within general guidelines and minimal supervision
- Ability to recognize the need for confidentiality of information and to maintain such confidences
- Ability to respond to internal or external inquiries, including those of a sensitive, confidential, or adversarial nature
