Billing Specialist Team Lead

Goldberg Segalla, a dynamic and collaborative law firm with a national presence, seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join its team as a Billing Specialist Team Lead. This position will p rovide direction, instruction and guidance to assigned Billing practice group(s), for the purpose of achieving the department’s goals. Provide coaching and motivation to team members to produce a creative, productive and healthy team environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Manage the daily workflow for assigned billing practice group(s) in order to achieve weekly and monthly deadlines.
  • Review and management of Billblast including new hire set up reporting, rejections, research and resolution of issues.
  • Assist with billing inquiries and monthly accruals for assigned billing practice group(s).
  • Monitor and support coverage for staff time off and other overflow as needed.
  • Budgeting and assignment of missing matters within Ebilling sites where applicable.
  • Train new hires within department and provide continued coaching and additional training as needed.
  • Convey new information, procedures or policies to the team to ensure the instructions are clear.
  • Serve as backup to Billing Team Supervisor for monthly prebill generation process.
  • Monthly reporting of unreturned prebills and cycle ahead for assigned practice groups for inclusion in Billing Team Supervisor reporting.
  • Develop knowledge of all Billing processes and applications to become subject matter expert regarding firm programs, including outside electronic billing vendors.
  • Provide daily support to Billing Team with editing and processing prebills, submitting billing, and reviewing Billblast as needed.
  • Special projects to be assigned by the Billing Team Supervisor.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and ownership of assigned practice group(s).
  • Understanding the importance of follow-up and issue resolution to determine when escalation to Billing Team Supervisor is necessary.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE :
  • Bachelor’s Degree, associate’s degree, or at least three years of general accounting experience in a legal office environment .
  • Knowledge of Billing including Ebilling
  • Knowledge of office administration and procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in English
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Regularly required to observe and assess data and documents, in printed form and on computer screens
  • May be requested to work beyond normal work hours and weekends for special projects
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently within general guidelines and minimal supervision
  • Ability to recognize the need for confidentiality of information and to maintain such confidences
  • Ability to respond to internal or external inquiries, including those of a sensitive, confidential, or adversarial nature
The hourly range for this position is $21-$26. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also offers bonuses, and a full benefits package.
