Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Locum Tenens Job in Albany, NY

Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2520 - $2580 per week

- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Job Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
- Start Date: September 22, 2025
- End Date: November 14, 2025
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Hours: 36 per week
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Scrub Color: Navy blue
- EMR System: Epic
- Weekend block schedule may be considered
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- At least 1 year of recent PCU or adult ICU nursing experience
- ACLS certification required
- Proficiency in advanced hemodynamics, pressor titration, and care of medical/surgical patients
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Ability to pass a nursing competency test within 24 hours of submission
- Strong infection prevention and control knowledge
- Deliver care to high acuity patients, including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, and complex trauma
- Manage advanced therapies: antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, arterial lines, CVP, EVD, and orthopedic traction
- Utilize high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPap/CPAP, and oxypendent devices
- Implement and follow infection prevention protocols
- Maintain an average patient load of 3 high acuity patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
