Drafting/CAD Technician III

CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client is seeking an experienced Drafting/CAD Technician III to support mechanical and architectural design initiatives. This role is ideal for a senior-level CAD professional who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment and can work independently on complex design assignments.

Job Title: Drafting/CAD Technician III

Location: Corning, NY

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Corning, NY

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field

What You'll Do:

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks

• Implement redline revisions from engineering and manufacturing teams

• Release drawings, models, and BOMs through EPDM

• Support early-stage conceptual modeling and design development

• Ensure compliance with drafting standards and document control procedures

• Identify and recommend process improvements

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of mechanical drafting/design experience (7+ preferred)

• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and EPDM

• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles

• Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and models

• Experience working independently with minimal supervision

• Welding/fabrication knowledge a plus
