Metallurgy Engineering Internship at CPP - Summer 2026

Pay: $22-$25/hr
Job Type: Temporary Fulltime/Hourly (on-site) Are you passionate about metallurgy and eager to gain hands-on experience in aerospace manufacturing? At Consolidated Precision Products , we are looking for a Metallurgy Engineering Intern to join our team this summer. This internship provides a unique opportunity to learn about the metallurgy of cast superalloys, the investment casting process, and the quality requirements essential for aerospace applications. What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with Industry Experts: Work alongside metallurgists, engineers, and lab technicians to improve our processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Support Process Improvement: Assist in reviewing metallurgical, process, and dimensional trials, contributing to continuous improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze test results, summarize data, and help prepare technical reports to present findings and recommendations for improvement.
- Hands-On Learning: Work with shop floor personnel to improve routings, instructions, and overall process performance based on their feedback.
- Problem Solving: Utilize A3 problem-solving and PDCA methodologies to address challenges and identify process improvements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all findings, trial results, and process changes.
- Currently an Engineering Student: Preferably pursuing a degree in Materials/Metallurgy, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, with at least two years of college coursework completed.
- Curious and Analytical: A strong interest in solidification, metallurgy, chemistry , and thermodynamics , along with the ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Problem-Solver: A creative thinker who can identify challenges and propose solutions, while working independently or as part of a team.
- Safety-Conscious: Committed to adhering to all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Physical Demands: This role requires 50% sitting and 50% walking/standing. You may occasionally need to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Work Environment: You will work in both climate-controlled areas and occasionally on the shop floor, which may involve exposure to heat and dust.
- Travel Requirements: Minimal travel (less than 5%) for supplier visits or training.
This internship will provide you with hands-on experience in a dynamic, high-performance manufacturing environment. You will gain valuable exposure to the aerospace industry and contribute to real-world projects that make a difference.
