Job Title: Medical Lab Technologist Job Description

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a key role in performing advanced lab tests that help detect, diagnose, and monitor diseases. You will work closely with the lab team to ensure accurate and timely testing for clients, while also supporting training, troubleshooting, and quality control efforts.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate to high complexity lab tests following established procedures to ensure accurate results.

• Operate both simple and advanced lab instruments and computers, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot issues when needed.

• Follow quality control protocols, analyze data trends, and take corrective actions to maintain high testing standards.

• Identify unusual situations and bring them to the attention of supervisors. Collaborate to resolve specimen or equipment issues.

• Review pending logs and investigate missing specimens. Ensure unresolved issues are handed off appropriately or escalated.

• Participate in evaluating and developing new lab methods, procedures, and instruments.

• Be flexible with scheduling to meet the demands of the lab and organization.

Essential Skills

• Experience in grossing, embedding, and staining.

• Proficiency in Chemistry, Hematology, and Endocrinology.

• Possession of a valid MLT License.

• 6+ years of relevant work experience as a Medical Lab Technologist.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

• Experience with laboratory and medical laboratory procedures.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position at a health center. You will work Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Thursday from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, with the possibility of rotating Fridays once or twice a month. The lab is part of a dynamic organization focused on oncology, urology, and women's health, offering comprehensive test solutions and expertise. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spring Valley, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
