Job Description

The Global Fashion Management (GFM) Master of Professional Studies program at FIT seeks accomplished professionals to teach graduate-level courses that explore the business of fashion with a global lens. Courses cover a range of subjects, including leadership, marketing strategy, global retail, merchandising/planning, innovation management, supply chain, brand transformation, and related business disciplines.

Designed for working professionals, the GFM program blends management theory with real-world application to prepare future leaders to manage fashion and lifestyle businesses in an increasingly interconnected marketplace. Adjunct faculty are expected to be thought-leaders that bring professional insight into the classroom, fostering a dynamic learning environment through discussion, case analysis, and experiential projects that address contemporary challenges in global fashion management.

Courses Are Taught One Evening Per Week To Accommodate Professional Schedules. The Department Is Seeking Adjunct Faculty To Teach The Following Courses In The Fall 2026 Semester

  • Communication & Public Speaking for Executives
  • Merchandising Strategy & Retail Management

Adjunct instructors deliver relevant course material, assess student performance, provide guidance and assistance to students both in and out of the classroom, and submit grades in a timely manner. Course descriptions are available in the online catalog and website .

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience in leadership, strategic management, merchandising, retail transformation, finance, or a relevant business function within the fashion or consumer goods sector.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching, mentoring, or coaching at the graduate, executive education, or organizational leadership level or corporate training and development.
  • Background working in global, cross-cultural fashion or a related business context.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor talent, lead teams, or coach executives within complex organizational environments.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a diverse, global student body.
  • Ability to integrate case studies, applied projects, and current industry examples into coursework.

Additional Information

This is a part-time position, adjunct teaching position beginning in Fall 2026. Review of applications will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled. The department will keep this posting open to create a pool of candidates for potential future adjunct assignments. Compensation

The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) governs the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment.

$89.98 per hour based on minimum qualifications. The final rate, step and appointment rank are determined by a candidate's ability to demonstrate that they meet the respective school's additional criteria for hiring "above the first step," in accordance with the CBA Adjunct Salary Schedules (pp 88-89) .

Physical Requirements And Work Environment

The working conditions for this position will be any combination of the classroom, lab, and/or office space. Certain roles may be required to handle machinery and chemicals. The physical requirement for this position will require occasional sitting, constant standing, occasional bending, frequent walking, and occasionally lifting 10 lbs. or less.
