The Behavioral Health Coordinator is a qualified professional with excellent engagement and coordination skills with experience in all aspects of physical and behavioral health care of adult patients/clients. Candidate must be proficient in computer and health record technology and possess the ability to prepare and maintain integrated care plans. BHCC positions are located within the Columbia County Department of Human Services.
This position is a non-competitive through the New York State Civil Service HELP (Hiring Emergency Limited Placement) Program. Candidates will not be required to take the Civil Service exam. The applicant must be a resident of New York State four (4) months prior to the date of appointment.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, nursing, rehabilitation, education, counseling, occupational/physical/recreation therapy, community mental health, child and family studies, sociology, counseling, speech and hearing AND two (2) years of full-time experience providing direct services to individuals (patients/clients/students) with mental, learning, or emotional disabilities. Experience includes, but is not limited to, providing therapeutic and supportive interventions as well as coordinating and lnking clients to comprehensive community resources in order to live successfully in the community--such as medical, psychiatric, social, educational, legal, housing, and financial services or experience in working with recipients of social service programs and public assistance.
Note : Additional education beyond the Bachelor's Degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT : Possession of valid NYS Driver License required at time of appointment and beyond.
