Service Manager — Waterloo, NY

Waterloo, New York agricultural and light industrial equipment business headquartered in Vermont seeking full-time Service Manager responsible for all aspects of running the Service department. Duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating customer, warranty, and internal work, managing a team of service technicians, a service writer, and a driver, and ensuring that the department operates smoothly and profitably. Our Service Managers represent the whole company and our brand in prominent and significant settings.

Dealership hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and 8:00 am to noon on most Saturdays.

Tasks

· Formulate, implement, and monitor an operating plan for the department

· Drive Service department sales via superior customer satisfaction, quality work, and various promotional tools

· Formally evaluate each departmental employee annually to ensure individual objective attainment

· Coach and train employees to enable them to improve and grow in their roles

· Communicate effectively with customers regarding Service work to be performed and collection of payment

· Develop an ongoing program for recruiting new Service Technicians

· Provide and encourage a culture of personal development and career advancement with each employee

· Resolve potential conflicts regarding Service work that has been performed and make decisions about possible write-downs

· Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on personnel's work priority and skill

· Arrange for the continued education and career growth of all departmental employees

Must-haves

Candidate must have excellent communication skills, be able to think independently, and have fundamental computer skills. We are willing to train the right person.
