Location - Midtown NYC
We are seeking a passionate Line Cook to join the team at our Hotel and Restaurant on Long Island's North Shore. If you are driven to create amazing culinary experiences and are interested in growing your career, we would love to get to know you.
The Role:
The cook will help our Executive Chef and Sous Chef prepare high-quality dishes for our new, upscale midtown Manhattan restaurant.
- Prepares meals by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards
- Follow recipes and instructions from Chefs in accordance with the Restaurant's standards
- Perform specialized station duties as required or assigned by Chefs
- Taste all ingredients as needed to ensure consistency
- Work under pressure and to take direction from kitchen chefs
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Maintains good relationships with coworkers and managers
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you’ll bring to the role:
- 1-2 years of kitchen experience in a similar role
- Degree from a culinary arts training program preferred
- Good knife skills
- Good communication skills
- Weekends are a must!
Compensation:
- $22-$24 per hour
