We are looking for a litigation paralegal to join a prominent law firm in New York, New York. This role supports attorneys through all phases of complex civil litigation, from document organization and legal research to trial readiness and court filings. The ideal candidate brings strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and the ability to manage detailed information in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities:• Support trial teams by preparing exhibits, organizing case materials, and coordinating documents needed for hearings and courtroom proceedings.
• Review legal citations for accuracy and consistency, and gather relevant authorities to assist with briefs, motions, and other litigation matters.
• Prepare filing packages for electronic submission, including assembling attachments, creating bookmarks, and linking cited references where required.
• Assist with discovery operations by managing electronically stored information and working with platforms such as Relativity or Everlaw when applicable.
• Maintain and organize both physical and digital case records to ensure materials are current, accessible, and properly tracked.
• Provide assistance with coding and document classification to support case management and litigation workflows.
• Use Excel and related tools to track case data, deadlines, and document inventories with a high degree of accuracy.
• Contribute to efficient legal support processes by working with document management systems such as NetDocuments and exploring emerging tools, including generative AI, where appropriate.• At least 3 years of paralegal experience, with a focus on litigation support in a legal environment.
• Demonstrated background in discovery, civil litigation, and trial preparation.
• Experience handling cite-checking, case law research, and preparation of court documents for e-filing.
• Working knowledge of e-discovery platforms; familiarity with Relativity or Everlaw is highly valued.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and confidence managing large volumes of legal and case-related data.
• Excellent analytical thinking and sound judgment when handling sensitive or time-critical matters.
• Effective communication, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to work well with attorneys and legal staff.
