Who You Are

As a Host, you are the very first and last impression of the Chama Mama experience. More than greeting guests, you create a warm welcome, set the tone for exceptional hospitality, and ensure every guest feels genuinely cared for from the moment they arrive.

You are organized, approachable, calm under pressure, and passionate about delivering memorable experiences. You enjoy connecting with people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and understand that every interaction matters.

What You'll Do

Create Exceptional First Impressions

  • Welcome every guest with genuine warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
  • Manage reservations, walk-in guests, and waitlists while maintaining excellent communication.
  • Escort guests to their tables and ensure they feel welcomed and comfortable.
  • Create memorable experiences by recognizing celebrations, VIP guests, and special occasions.

Manage Guest Flow

  • Coordinate reservations using restaurant reservation platforms.
  • Optimize table seating to maximize efficiency while maintaining excellent guest experiences.
  • Communicate wait times accurately and professionally.
  • Work closely with managers and service teams to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

Deliver Outstanding Hospitality

  • Maintain strong knowledge of our menus, Georgian culture, wine program, and restaurant offerings.
  • Assist guests with questions and provide thoughtful recommendations when appropriate.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and ensure every guest leaves satisfied.
  • Support the service team whenever needed to create seamless hospitality.

Support Operational Excellence

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand.
  • Communicate guest information, allergies, celebrations, VIP visits, and special requests to the team.
  • Encourage bar seating and walk-in business whenever appropriate.
  • Assist with large party reservations and special events alongside management.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous host or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for providing exceptional hospitality.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant.
  • Experience using reservation systems such as Resy, OpenTable, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Positive attitude with a strong team-first mindset.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
