Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager works alongside the General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations, support and develop staff, and deliver a welcoming, high-quality dining experience for every guest.

Responsibilities (but not limited to) :

  • Manage, lead and mentor floor managers and staff
  • Ensure service is maintained at the utmost of quality levels
  • Develop risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Represent the GM in investigating, answering, and settling grievances in absence of General Manager
  • Maintain all corporate mandates update and track daily reports
  • Analyze staffing requirements, develop iteration plans, and assess opportunities for future growth
  • Assist general manager with recruitment efforts
  • Coach and train management staff
  • Responsible for Team performance – morale, productivity, fiscal responsibility
  • Monitor activities and expenses
  • Assist in setting and monitoring sales forecasts and profitability reports
  • Keep General Manager informed of sales and key issues
  • Increasing sales through marketing, networking and incentives for staff to raise guest check average.
  • Assists in maintaining budgeted revenues, cost of sales (COS), labor, supplies and operating cash flow (OCF)
  • Reviews monthly profit and loss statements and acts on all variances.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of restaurant management experience in a full-service environment
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop management and hourly teams
  • Strong understanding of daily restaurant operations and service standards
  • Experience with scheduling, staffing analysis, and labor optimization
  • Solid knowledge of restaurant financials, including sales, labor, COS, and P&L review
  • Ability to maintain budgets, control expenses, and improve profitability
  • Experience assisting with hiring, training, and performance management
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
