StaffBuffalo is working with a long-standing, stable organization to hire an Accounting & Administrative Specialist to support daily financial operations and assist ownership with key reporting and operational tasks; offering a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on experience!

This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on exposure, variety in their day, and the opportunity to grow into a long-term position within a supportive team environment. This position blends core accounting responsibilities with administrative support. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in managing financial processes and supporting various administrative functions. The primary responsibilities of the role will focus on traditional accounting functions such as account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assisting with profit and loss reporting. The remainder of the role offers variety, supporting operations, optimizing internal processes, and helping ownership interpret financial data gathered from internal reports.

The ideal candidate brings accounting experience, understands accounting terminology, and is comfortable working in QuickBooks and Excel. This is an in-person, onsite role located in Williamsville, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform account reconciliations and review bank and credit card statements for accuracy
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including processing and auditing vendor invoices
  • Assist with generating and reviewing profit and loss reports and financial summaries
  • Process bank transactions and maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks
  • Update and maintain spreadsheets in Excel to track financial and operational data
  • Provide administrative support to the operations team, including data entry and document management
  • Assist ownership with gathering data and preparing internal financial reports as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 1 to 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Working knowledge of accounting terminology and basic financial processes
  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred; strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage rotating and varied daily tasks
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a small, long-tenured team
  • Adaptable, open-minded, and interested in long-term growth within the organization
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm
