Head Start Support Staff/10-Month

Pro Action’s Head Start Program is accepting applications for Classroom Support Staff in our Stewart Park Classroom . The successful candidate will have direct daily interaction with children and assist with implementing classroom and small group activities. As a Classroom Support Staff, you are a valued member of the classroom team working with young children and building strong relationships with families within the community.

Job Duties

Mak on-going observations of children’s development and maintain anecdotal records.

Assist in establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and learning environment.

Supervise and interact with children during planned classroom activities such as indoor/outdoor play, large or small group instruction, circle-time, mealtimes, cleanup, etc.

Ideal Skills

Basic organizational and basic math skills.

Communication and language skills to comprehend documents and other correspondence.

Basic computer skills with basic knowledge o Excel Microsoft Office and other office equipment such as copier, scanner, fax, etc.

Ability to interact with customers from a variety of backgrounds.

Capability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

The ideal candidate must have a valid driver’s license, meeting agency standards per position and consistent, reliable transportation that will allow regular travel in and around the service area.
