Director, Medical Excellence and Operations (ME&O), Insights & Analytics

The Director, Medical Excellence & Operations (ME&O) Insights & Analytics will lead the development and execution of a global strategy for integrating and leveraging data-driven insights across multiple Global Medical Affairs (GMA) functions. This role will be responsible for managing the Manager, Medical Analytics and is pivotal in shaping how GMA uses analytics to optimize performance, enhance decision-making, and deliver measurable impact across therapeutic areas.

The Director, Medical Excellence & Operations (ME&O) Insights & Analytics will report to the Senior Director, Medical Affairs Solutions & Analytics and will leverage strategic vision, operational excellence, and expertise in data integration to drive innovation and efficiency across functions such as Medical Information, Field Medical, Medical Strategy, and Medical Education. Preferred therapeutic experience includes Nephrology, Central Nervous System (CNS), and rare disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership

  • Define and implement a global strategy for ME&O Insights & Analytics, ensuring alignment with GMA priorities and business objectives.

  • Drive innovation in data integration and analytics to enable evidence-based decision-making across GMA business units.

  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of a KPI framework to measure the impact and effectiveness of GMA activities globally.

  • Build a robust approach to assessing, measuring, and disseminating actionable insights across GMA.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a key liaison between multiple GMA functions (Medical Information, Field Medical, IT, Data & Analytics, etc.) to harmonize data standards and reporting frameworks.

  • Partner with regional and global stakeholders to ensure consistent execution of insights and analytics initiatives.

  • Liaise with Medical Strategy and other key stakeholders to support and enhance quality data collection.

  • Collaborate with the External Engagement & Field Excellence function to advance training related to insight generation and quality data capture.

  • Data Integration & Analytics

  • Lead efforts to consolidate and analyze data from diverse sources (e.g., CRM systems, medical inquiries, field medical interactions, scientific engagement metrics).

  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and advanced analytics models to measure impact and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Work collaborative to develop robust self-service GMA insights platform for internal stakeholders.

  • Operational Excellence

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.

  • Maintain regularly cadenced reports and dashboards to track performance, insights, and progress across GMA functions.

  • Ensure accountability for data accuracy, timeliness, and completeness, serving as the primary owner for ME&O insights and analytics deliverables.

  • Accelerate turnaround times for data requests by streamlining processes and leveraging automation, enabling GMA teams to make faster, evidence-based decisions.

  • Develop Insights & Analytics team metrics and associated measurement approaches to assess team performance.

  • Therapeutic Expertise

  • Apply knowledge in Nephrology and CNS to ensure insights are clinically relevant and strategically impactful.

  • Collaborate with therapeutic area leads to tailor analytics solutions to specific scientific and medical needs.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or related field (PhD, PharmD, MD); MBA or advanced analytics degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs within a global pharmaceutical or biotech organization.

  • Experience with Veeva CRM data and Microsoft Suite. Knowledge of Snowflake preferred

  • Experience and growing passion for leveraging Generative AI to solve complex business questions and automate reporting, with ability to identify innovative use cases that drive efficiency and insight generation.

  • Proven track record in leveraging medical insights data to impact strategy with strong understanding of GMA functions.

  • Expertise in data integration, visualization tools, and advanced analytics methodologies.

  • Preferred therapeutic experience in Nephrology, CNS, and rare disease.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Minimum $186,489.00 - Maximum $278,875.00, plus incentive opportunity: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting pay for individuals who are hired in the role to perform in the United States. Other elements may be used to determine actual pay such as the candidate's job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in role. Typically, actual pay will be positioned within the established range, rather than at its minimum or maximum. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with states and local laws.
