Investment Management Associate — New York

A highly respected, globally recognized law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate to join its expanding Investment Management practice in New York. In this role, you will work closely with an established team advising private equity funds, hedge funds, private credit funds, real estate funds, hybrid funds, and other alternative investment vehicles. The position is ideal for an attorney who combines technical excellence with an entrepreneurial mindset and enjoys meaningful client engagement.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and support the formation, structuring, and ongoing operation of private investment funds across asset classes.
• Work directly with partners and clients on fund launches, regulatory considerations, and investor negotiations.
• Take ownership of matters while collaborating across a highly integrated, multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and strengthen long-term client relationships.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to fund sponsors navigating evolving market and regulatory landscapes.

What You Bring

• 4–7+ years of law firm experience focused on investment funds and fund formation.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills, with confidence working directly with clients and investors.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority matters at once.
• A proactive, business-oriented approach and comfort operating both independently and within a team.
• JD and prior law firm experience (required).
• Admission to the New York Bar.
