Procurement Manager
In this position, you will determine what to buy through demand analysis and current inventory levels and how to buy it, through sourcing strategy and vendor management of the inbound flow of inventory. You will be accountable for choosing the lowest landed cost materials that meet quality, lead time, and quantity requirements to support being competitive in order to help branches be successful with their product strategies and profitably serve their customer base.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, as well as other duties that may be assigned.
- Identify and select the best suppliers; negotiate pricing, terms, and quality for raw materials, BOM components, and services via OPC processes
- Handle price negotiations when appropriate or when there is no other corporate contract in place; responsible for expediting when a supplier is late on their delivery commitment
- Understand Netstock’s inventory classifications for stocked items using ABC analysis (based on value) and LMH analysis (based on velocity) to set appropriate inventory policies and safety stock levels for each SKU and warehouse combination
- Leverage Netstock’s AI-driven forecasting tool to analyze historical sales, identify trends, and anticipate seasonal demand shifts, creating accurate demand forecasts to drive replenishment in the warehouses and Distribution Centers
- Collaborate with sales and procurement teams to align inventory levels with business goals, new customer demand, and when introducing new products
- Negotiate for better terms or cost, participate in and suggest initiatives to lower costs or improve efficiency, such as automation-related initiatives
- Identify potential vendor, product, or market disruptions and develop and present appropriate contingency plans to be acted on to prevent shortages
- Collaboratively define and monitor service level targets to maximize product availability while reducing excess inventory
- Maintain database of lead times, primary vendors, MOQs in Syspro
- Act on daily automated purchase order recommendations from Netstock, manage replenishment schedules and supplier lead times to minimize stock-outs and excess stock. Use Netstock’s “Top-Up” capability to fill out containers
- Identify overstock, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory, initiate transfer or liquidation strategies to improve inventory turnover
- Monitor key performance indicators such as Fill Rate, Stock Turns, Inventory Value, and Forecast Accuracy to report on team performance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 7+ Years of strategic buying/planning experience
- Proficiency in Netstock
- Knowledge of ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365, Syspro, NetSuite, Acumatica
- Ability to analyze datasets, spot trends and provide recommendations
- Ability to anticipate disruptions and plan for future demand
- Meticulous approach to review data, adjust safety stocks and manage SKU parameters
- Strong aptitude for solving replenishment issues and optimizing complex supply chains
Education and Experience: (Required and preferred educational and experiential qualifications)
- Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or related field
- APICS/CPIM Certification, Netstock Inventory Management Concepts Certification
