What is a DMS Model Manager?
The DMS Model Manager is responsible for maintaining and updating the circuitry data models obtained from GIS that are used by Central Hudson's Distribution Management System (DMS). This includes regular interaction with our engineering, drafting, accounting, and electric operations departments. The DMS Model Manager will report to the Associate Director – GIS Data.



What does a DMS Model Manager do?

»Direct, perform, and be responsible for circuit model promotion and data QA/QC in General Electric DMS. Ensure that the DMS network model remains accurate and up to date. This shall include verification of circuitry obtained from the Esri ArcGIS electric model, analysis of errors/anomalies, and feedback on items for resolution

»On an as needed basis, supervise one or more technicians responsible for work order updates on the Esri ArcGIS electric model circuitry

»Understand and interact with several other CHG&E systems (SAP CIS, and mainframe systems FOS, TDS, and MMS) to ensure quality of customer connection data and equipment file records

»Supports storm/emergency restoration efforts



What does it take to be a DMS Model Manager?

Required:

»Associate's degree in engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science or a related field of study

»Strong analytical expertise needed to build data models, diagnose problems, and develop solutions

»Strong attention to detail

»Strong interpersonal expertise for interaction with engineering, drafting, and managery staff

»Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

»Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science or a related field of study

» practice supervising others

» practice in GIS database management

»Electric distribution system knowledge

»Established knowledge of the ArcFM electric GIS model, GE DMS/ADMS, GE PowerOn OMS, Safe Software FME Server, and other emergency management systems
