Job Description – Fence Yard Laborer

General Purpose
The purpose of the Fence Yard Laborer is to operate the fence bulk yard in an organized manner with excellent inventory control along with providing excellent customer service.

FLSA Status : Non-exempt

Reports to: Fence General Manager, Office Manager

Job Description

»Communicate with the customer in a friendly, valuable, and professional manner

» expertise of fence material and inventory supply with fence parts

»Write up customer orders and pull orders for customers and installation

» capability to communicate with management

»Load customers’ vehicles with bulk material

»Keep yard and showroom neat and organized with fence parts

»Responsible for care, parts inventory, and safe operation of equipment used in fence yard, including but not limited to forklift.

»Be aware of safety procedures and maintain an employee and customer safe fence yard

»Certified forklift operator

»Assist in other areas of the department as needed

Physical Requirements

»Freely access all areas of the Fence site

»Sweep and rake yard

»Climb a ladder/step stool

»Must be able to stand, sit, and bend for multiple hours within the work day

»Good verbal communication expertise

» capability to consistently lift 80 lbs

»Work outdoors in all seasons in all weather conditions

» capability to work overtime during the busy season

Mental/Reasoning Requirements

»Basic reading, writing & math expertise

»Organizational expertise

»Follow Directions and Focus on Job

»Good verbal communication expertise
