Java Backend with Junit - NY (
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Java Backend Engineer with deep expertise in JUnit testing frameworks to join our team supporting client in New York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing scalable backend systems, writing robust unit tests, and mentoring junior developers. This role demands a high level of technical proficiency, leadership, and a passion for clean, testable code.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems using Java 8+.
- Lead the development and implementation of JUnit-based unit testing strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure code quality through rigorous testing, code reviews, and best practices.
- Optimize application performance and scalability.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Work closely with DevOps and QA teams to ensure smooth CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 14 16 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
- Expert-level proficiency in JUnit and other testing frameworks (Mockito, TestNG).
- Strong understanding of Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Solid grasp of design patterns, OOP principles, and clean code practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in financial services or payment systems.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Exposure to Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes.
